Famine Spreads in East Africa: 50 Million at Risk

Beloved in Christ, my heart breaks as I report on the worsening famine crisis in East Africa. Over 50 million people are facing severe food insecurity, with children dying of malnutrition daily.

"And there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."

Jesus called these events "the beginning of sorrows" — literally "birth pangs" in the Greek. Just as birth pangs increase in frequency and intensity before a birth, these prophetic signs are intensifying before Christ's return.

Somalia is experiencing its worst drought in 40 years. Yemen continues to suffer under war and blockade. Afghanistan faces economic collapse. These aren't just statistics — these are our brothers and sisters created in God's image.

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
